Glamping Getaway to West VA ⛰🗻🌄
Mountains and waterfalls have a special place in my heart. Mountains remind us to stay calm and stand tall with modesty in all seasons of life. They teach us to feel beautiful in all shape and form. Mountains command humility with their sheer angles and beautiful faces. While waterfalls on the other hand motivate us to embrace the moment. Just like how life brings twists and turns, have ups and downs, but in the end, it will continue to flow.
Beautiful West Virginia is home to mountains and waterfalls and is unique in its own geography. It is called the Mountain State because it's the only state completely within the Appalachian Mountain region. It has a total of 275 waterfalls. So if you are a mountajn loving watrrfall chasing adverurer then keep resding about this gem..
#Tangynotes team 'glamped' in West VA and soaked in the beauty of mountains and waterfalls for a long weekend.
An experience
Glamping (Glamor +Camping) brings an out-of-the-box concept of camping under the stars with the luxury and comfort like a hotel. It takes away the stress of camping and packing every little need for a night's stay. What makes glamping great is not that it’s a devolution of the hotel concept, but rather an evolution of camping.
The real beauty of glamping is that you get time saved from camp setup and gear unpacking/packing.This allows you to focus on why you’re camping in the first place: the hikes, family time and enjoying the outdoors.
Before you choose a glamping or a camping location, look for -
- Safety
- Size
- Terrain
- Privacy
- Permission
- Water
Glamping sites takes care of most of these factors cause it comes with a higher cost than regular campsite but during our trip we were thouroghly impressed by the amenties of the location we chose and everything was super convinient.
We had a cozy bed, microwave, mini refrigerator, air condition, fresh towels and first aid box in our glamping tent. We also had access to clean bathrooms and showers with proper water supply. The star amenities were grill, firepit and open space to enjoy the family time.
Also this glamping site was beautifully located between the mountains and was very close to beautiful sceneic locations.
Since it was a very short trip we covered few locations around -
Blackwater Falls State Park - West Virginia's most iconic waterfall is the main attraction at Blackwater Falls State Park. It is also the state's tallest waterfall and plunges 57 feet into the Blackwater Canyon. Blackwater Falls State Park is named for the falls of the Blackwater River whose amber-colored waters plunge five stories then twist and tumble through an eight-mile long gorge. The "black" water is a result of tannic acid from fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. The falls are one of the most photographed sites in West Virginia. Highly recommended.
Senecca Rocks Spruce knob - Located in recreation area in the Monongahela National Forest of eastern West VA. Spruce Knob, the highest point in West VA and the highest of the Allegheny Mountains with a summit elevation of 4,863 feet. But the most beautiful was Seneca Rocks, a 900-foot (270 m) high quartzite crag popular with rock climbers.
Lindy Point Overlook - The short hike to Lindy Point takes you to the most scenic overlook in Blackwater Falls State Park. The trail itself is easy to follow but takes you to a complete Avatar Land with beautiful rock formations and it looked ever more prettier with the fog.
Pendleton Point Overlook - It is a beautiful trail located near Davis, West Virginia that offers the chance to see a breathtaking scenery.
Swimming Hole - Another beautiful spot nearby with crystal clear water and an amazing view is called swimming hole.
Overall it was a short trip with many opportunities to connect with nature and glamping expereince made it a lot more fun.
Whether you’re a regular camper or newbie, glamping is something you have to try at least once. There was honestly nothing added to this experience that made me feel like I wasn’t still out camping. I actually enjoyed my weekend more because I had time to appreciate what makes camping, camping. Let the glamp handle the logistics while you handle the adventure! 🌄
