Phil-in-the-delphia

The name Delphia is a girl's name meaning "the womb". Its also feminization of the Greek place name Delphi and is a synonymous nod to the American city of Philadelphia. So #tangynotes chose the beautiful city of Philadelphia PA for a quick girls' getaway for all the lady-like adventures.

Not so New York but totally inspired by the Big Apple that has a lot to offer and a perfect spot to have a fun-filled short trip within the driving distance of Washington DC. If you have been to Philly you know what I am talking about but if you have not explored Philly yet, keep reading ...

Philadelphia is most famous for the Liberty Bell, Rocky’s statue, cheesesteaks, and the Eagles. But besides that, the city is full of amazing architecture and beautiful intersections. Philadelphia is easy to get around by just walking, on bike or segways but I love the cities with old-school hop-on hop-off tour buses and I truly enjoyed covering Philadelphia on the city bus.

Interesting Fact: Philly is the “Mural Capital of the World”. Mural Arts Philadelphia project started as an anti-graffiti program in 1984 and has grown to be an international leader with over 4,000 works of community-based public art all over the city. Various tour companies offer mural tours around the city.

Other engaging tours include ghost tours, architecture tours, carriage drawn tours, food and drinks tour,s etc to explore the city from different perspectives.

Philly is jumping all hours of the day, but the after-dark scene is pretty hot, too. With a variety of legendary bars, lively clubs, and some late-night dining spots, you can party well into the evening. Dressing up and enjoying the city was a perfect girls trip vibe 🙂

The star location where I stayed was a beautiful Hyatt location in the heart of Philly downtown with a floor-to-ceiling window offering an amazing city view.

Philadelphia is famous for LOVE, AMOR, and XOXO sculptures which have a lively open vibe all around. Clearly, it’s a romantic city and I can enjoy the city again and again ... ❤️

Other iconic spots of Philadelphia worth visiting are

City Hall : Built of brick, white marble, and limestone, Philadelphia City Hall is the world’s largest free-standing masonry building and was the world's tallest habitable building upon its completion in 1894.

Liberty Bell: The Liberty Bell is an important and famous symbol of American independence (freedom). ... When it was first made, the Liberty Bell was used to make lawmakers come to legislative meetings. It was also used to call people to public meetings. Bells were rung when the Declaration of Independence was read on July 8, 1776.

Independence Hall: Independence Hall is open to the public, and every visitor receives a free 30 minute guided tour by a National Park Service Ranger.

Rocky Statue and Steps: Visiting the statue, running up the steps, and taking a picture at the top is a must on any first visit to Philadelphia. After the filming was complete, Stallone donated the statue to the City of Philadelphia. Since 2006, the statue has been located at the bottom of the stairs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and there is a near-constant stream of people waiting in line to get their pictures taken with the “Italian Stallion.”

Logan Circle: A beautiful fountain in the heart of the city in Logan Square.

China Town

Besides a city vibe, Philly is famous for its special cheesesteak, amazing Mediterranean food and tons of places to enjoy all kinds of cuisine.
